On 7th July the blogosphere was full of people concerned for friends and collagues in London. Truth be told i don't know that many people in London so although I was deeply concerned it wasn't so personal for me, but just over four months later I understand the emotion that was felt by so many.
Two months ago (and twelve months before that) I was busy working for Highway Projects in Jebel Amman so the news tonight that two bombs have exploded in that small suburb of the Jordanian capital (Reuters) is more than a little scary! Having just made a few calls and sent a couple of texts fortunately, it seems all the people we worked with are okay, though the capital has been thrown into chaos.
Besides the personal thoughts, politically these attacks are mental. King Abdullah is the peace-keeper of the Middle-East. Not many people have Bush and Mahmoud Abbas on speed dial, but Abdullah continues to be on first name terms with both, so why attack Jordan? How on earth do you deal with such nihilism?
How on earth do you deal with such nihilism?
You kill them.
